Dr. Tanushree R. Peters
Dr. Tanushree Rachel Peters (MBBS, DCH, DNB pediatrics) is a renowned name in Pediatrics and neonatology in Siliguri.
Dr. Tanushree R Peters was the secretary of Siliguri Academy of Pediatrics from December 2020 to 2022. She is also a member of the Executive committee of West Bengal academy of Pediatrics 2020 - 2022.
Her academic journey in the medical field started at Gauhati Medical College from which she passed her MBBS and post graduation.After completing PG she joined Northbengal Medical College and worked there for a few years.Then she left for CHENNAI to do her Pediatrics intensive care training. She has also done a postgraduate course in Pediatric nutrition from Boston University USA.
Besides Pediatrics she is also actively involved with the Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP and has organised several Basic NRP workshops for health care workers in and around Siliguri. She is a life member of National Neonatology Forum.
Besides neonatology and Pediatrics she also does adolescent counseling with behavioral problems and poor scholastic performance. She has Publications in many reputed journals both National and international and is an ardent academician. She is a visiting consultant in a number of nursing homes in Siliguri.
She did her schooling from Carmel school, Jorhat. During her school days besides being brilliant in studies she pursued both 'Satriya Nritya', a beautiful classical dance form of Assam, and vocal classical music excelling in both the streams. She won an all India scholarship in satriya Nritya for nearly 10 years. She acquired 'Visharad' degree in vocal music which she has been keeping up as a hobby till date.
